Susan has primarily worked 2-dimensional, focusing on landscape, often painting plein air. She studied in Florence, Italy for a school year during the 1970’s and graduated from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY.
Her work exposes an intimate wildness with nature. If she isn’t painting on site, she may be hiking on (and off trail often), or foraging for wild edibles.
She has lived in Platte Clove in the Catskills seasonally her whole life and now resides full time in the heart of these mountains. She is a member of the HUDSON RIVER ARTISTS GUILD, a local group of women artists who paint together weekly indoors in studios or outside in cooperative weather. These artists show regionally.
